What the heck?

Okay. I am trying to recover from a sinus infection thing. It is not fun.

Anyway, the doctor I saw was not my regular doctor so he gave me an antibiotic and can you guess what one of the post marketing adverse reactions listed are? I bet you can! Yes- it’s PANCREATITIS!

This doctor gave me- a person with chronic recurrent pancreatitis- a drug that CAUSES pancreatitis!

How do I know that? Well, I started throwing up last night and my side started hurting a lot, and it’s not better this morning, so I looked it up.

I’m really trying to avoid the emergency room.

I feel disgusting.

Meanwhile, since I don’t know that the antibiotic is making me sick, I need to take it.

Just frustrated.

I wish MY doctor wasn’t always booked solid. It would be awesome to be able to see him when I didn’t feel well.

Such is life I suppose.

  1. Is there a way you can contact the office you went to and explain the situation so they can give you something else? You can’t continue to take that, you are going to end up back in the hospital.

    1. I mean, so I’m worried that I’m just being an obnoxious patient.

Like maybe I just read the post marketing thing and I don’t feel well and I’m putting the two together.

      Maybe it’s something else entirely.

I don’t really want to “accuse” (for lack of a better word), the doctor and act like I know better. I’m not a medical professional. I’m just some pharmacist’s kid. I know how to use medical apps. That’s all.

So yeah. I am gonna give it like one more day and see. Then maybe I’ll call.
