Apparently threats have been made towards all 50 state capitols as well as the inauguration so our governor has decided to call out the national guard and erect a six foot fence around our beautiful Capitol building in Lansing.
I love that building.
I interned at the state Capitol when I was a junior getting my first bachelors degree for part of a semester. It was so lovely.
There is just something magical about the building.
I dislike our governor, but I’m glad she’s taking steps to keep the building safe from morons. I wish she would have done that earlier this year when it was spray painted and defaced by protesters, but I guess that’s not as bad as what this group could do.
I fear for my country.
My mom doesn’t want me near downtown in our city because she is worried that protests could erupt here.
Literally, what country am I in? This is crazy.
Sigh. I guess it’s reality. It’s just so messed up.
