I spent the last nine or so days camping in the upper peninsula of Michigan.
It was AMAZING.
I love it up there. It’s so beautiful. There are so many things to do and so many beautiful things to see.
We went to a ton of places along Lake Superior, and saw deer, and even had a bear in our campsite, (although we only heard him).
I am completely exhausted from walking everywhere. My knees are shot.
The only part of the trip that kind of bummed me out was not being able to go everywhere and do everything because of my knees and because I am so out of shape. That sucked. It’s a good motivation to be healthy.
The best part was, I didn’t really feel like a “mental health patient” the entire time I was up there. I took my meds, but that was the only “intrusion” into my life really. I had normal emotions and experiences while I was there that I didn’t feel like I had to pathologize or turn into something they weren’t. It was awesome.
I am looking forward to next summer when I can go again. It was a great time to go and a great time spent with friends.
Here are some photos from the trip:
Fun camp fire flames
I totally forget where I took this, but it’s beautiful.
