I went on a shortened walk today because of the heat much to my Astonishment today.

It’s only 72 and sunny, but I was wearing my jeans and a tank top and I got way too hot. I easily overheat due to my psych meds and just my genetic make up so trying to power walk in the most intense part of the day was probably a bad move. I also got too much sun on my face. That’s thanks again to the meds making me photosensitive and my genetic makeup.

I could feel the band of skin tightening across my forehead when I was still 3/4 of a mile from my house and it had turned into a full blown headache with dizziness by the time I got back to my house.

I had been hoping that the weight loss would help with my summer issues, but apparently not.

It’s supposed to be 80 tomorrow, but with a 20 mph breeze so that will make it pleasant.

I will still probably try to get my walk in during the morning however, instead of the middle of the afternoon, if I don’t decide to take a day out of the sun entirely and hit the dreaded treadmill instead. I just walk more slowly on the stupid thing than I do outside. Go figure.

I’ve drunk about a gallon of ice water and now I think I need a nap. I always forget that 72 is enough to take me out. I did this last year too. Oh well.

Old art by me.

  1. Feel better soon. Its tough adjusting to the sun and heat, and I’m sure the meds add to the fun. A hat is a fine thing, too–I have a big lightweight straw one that is SPF shading and it helps a lot. Tough on the hair (what do) but not getting sick makes it so worth it.
