There will be lots of opportunities for puddle jumping here today.
I haven’t seen the final rain totals, but I know we received a few inches in just a couple of days, combined with all of the snow melt and the frozen ground that cannot accommodate all of the moisture.
It’s made for some spectacular puddles.
It also reminds me of when my friend’s children were very small.
It was summer then, and blazing hot. I lived with her and her two small children at the time and we didn’t have air conditioning to speak of. It had just stormed and so it was humid and hot.
The dirt driveway, with its grooves and potholes, afforded us an excellent opportunity to strip the kids down to their diapers, (this was out in the middle of nowhere), and make mud pies. We played in that mud until it was almost dried up and the kids were fully Encrusted. It was a fun day and I still have the pictures to embarrass them with on their graduation days.
That may have been nearly a decade ago, but it certainly is a strong memory. One I will carry with me through my lifetime. It was a fun day.
